Supernaturally Blog Tour!

Today is a fantastic day!
We have Kiersten White here with a very special and pretty super awesome guest post! She will be on Blog tour where she presents an IPCA Dossier and artist rendering of a different Paranormal creature you might meet in Paranormalcy and Supernaturally.

Today we start the tour with :

IPCA Employee Handbook Section 3.1.2
Vampires
Level Two
Known Entity (Human Corruption), Origin Undetermined, Predatory
Immortality: Undetermined, no aging apparent, further study needed
Replication of Long Life/Breeding: Impossible without corruption to vampire state, no cross-breeding danger
Appearance: Normal, physically attractive, late-teens to early thirties.
Myths: Sensitivity to crosses, dying in sunlight, super-strength, sparkling, facial changes when attacking, shapeshifting to bats or wolves or mist.
Facts: Avoidance of direct sunlight and mirror; both reveal vampiric nature. Incapacitating reaction to standard modified IPCA issue Tasers. Fatal sensitivities to holy water, silver, and wooden stakes. Undetermined if other materials pierced through the heart lead to death (experiments halted under Charter Section 92.5.37, subsection B, pending further regulation on Necessary Cruelty clauses).
Dangers: Subtle powers of persuasion, dependent upon eye contact. Not perfect mind-control, but enhanced influence. Silver jewelry, strong-wills, single-mindedness, and careful regulation of emotions when interacting with vampires virtually negate the issue. (For further tips, please see Training Appendices, pages 45-72.)
Information contributed by Evelyn age 15 (please see Appendices Catalog, Section 7, for details on glamour-piercing abilities), transcribed from the original audio: Vampires are nasty. Under their glamours theyโ€™re all rotten corpses, stringy hair, white eyes. Theyโ€™ve run one seriously successful PR campaign to convince the average populace theyโ€™re actually sexy. Because, come on! CORPSES! Donโ€™t make eye contact unless you can see through glamours. Vampires are kind of screwed up emotionally in general, but they like things to be all sexy, so you can use that to distract them and get a good Taser jolt in. Maybe two, just for good measure.
Artist rendering of Evelynโ€™s description:

How awesome is this??

Paranormalcy #2

synopsis from goodreads

Evie finally has the normal life sheโ€™s always longed for. But sheโ€™s shocked to discover that being ordinary can be . . . kind of boring. Just when Evie starts to long for her days at the International Paranormal Containment Agency, sheโ€™s given a chance to work for them again. Desperate for a break from all the normalcy, she agrees.

But as one disastrous mission leads to another, Evie starts to wonder if she made the right choice. And when Evieโ€™s faerie ex-boyfriend Reth appears with devastating revelations about her past, she discovers that thereโ€™s a battle brewing between the faerie courts that could throw the whole supernatural world into chaos. The prize in question? Evie herself.

So much for normal.

  1. Yikes! That's a vampire? What happened to sexy ones with sparkles on top? LOL

Okay, bad joke aside, I'd really like to apply for a job at the IPCA just so I could snag an employee handbook of my own. I'm sure it would be very helpful in RL!
