synopsis from goodreads

Okay, so cats don’t always land on their feet.

I know that better than most. Since rejoining the Pride, I ve made big decisions and even bigger mistakes: the kind paid for with innocent lives. As the first and only female enforcer, I have plenty to prove to my father, the Pride, and myself. And with murdered toms turning up in our territory, I m working harder than ever, though I always find the energy for a little after-hours recreation with Marc, my partner both on- and off-duty.

But not all of my mistakes are behind me. We re beginning to suspect that the dead are connected to a rash of missing human women and that they can all be laid at my feet–two or four, take your pick. And one horrible indiscretion may yet cost me more than I can bear…

Heartbreaking Second Book in a Series!

One of those series where the second book even gets better.. I liked the intensity of this one. The conflicts of Marc and Faythe were sometimes absolutely heartbreaking!

Faythe is finally home and is working for her father as an enforcer together with Marc as a Team. But when they start to discover dead Toms and Faythe is getting angry calls from her human Ex (in both ways Ex..) things are getting heavy really fast.

Marc and Faythe, Faythe or Marc -who makes me angrier??
classic Love-Hate Relationship from my site..

Apart from the suspense that runs always along, the relationship between the characters is what catches me the most. Honestly, I love Faythe but I was also angry with her so so so often!! I wanted to scream at her and slap her to get back to her senses. Specially, together with Marc.
Oh my Marc! He is such a wonderful strong but also heartbreakingly soft character who loves Faythe so deeply it hurts. She doesn’t deserve him – absolutely not!

There is one scene that made me cry so much : Highlight for Spoiler:
when Marc asked Faythe to wear his promise ring and she again refused! I was cheering for him when he said “Thanking you for giving me my balls back”

Bottom Line

The ending made me just start the next one right away! Although I gave only 4 starts for the first book this one really kicked ass.  Faythe and Marc together are intense and I love intense relations. In addition, Faythe is so real with all her flaws and everything. I can only recommend to start reading this series!!

All the books in this series are available as audiobooks and I highly recommend them. I love the narrator she has an easy voice and I love her male interpretations.
She did a outstanding good job and I will continue listen to them! Seriously she’s one of the best narrators ever!! I simply love her!

I absolutely loveeeeeee this series! And I too was completely angered by marc and faythe's love-hate relationship, but when you really think about it, aren't real relationships very much like theirs? We all want to fall in love with prince charming and live happily ever after, but the reality of it is that real relationships are hard work and rarely involve being swept off one's feet.Anyhoo, great review. Hope you enjoy the rest of the series as much as I did!Mandy @ Embrace Your Oddities

I haven't read anything by Rachel Vincent but I think I might like this series. Is it a YA series? I have to read it to see what got you so mad Danny. You don't seem like the kind to get mad over much unless it's a girl being stupid and stepping out into danger. But sounds like this girl is not being faithful maybe? I haven't been listening to my audios lately, I'll give this series a try.
